Nokia 770 The Nokia 770 internet tablet gained FCC approval yesterday, hopefully pointing to an imminent release.
The Nokia 770 was originally demonstrated back in May, and it was announced that it would be shipping Q3 this year, so we could possibly see the tablet some time this month. The Nokia 770 runs an embedded Linux OS, based on the well known Debian Linux distribution, and is designed to be an inexpensive replacement for the second or third computer in a household. The device could easily be left on a coffee table or the like, to be put into action for web browsing or checking email.
With 802.11b WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity for access to the web (but no cell phone radio, despite being from Nokia), the Nokia 770 could well be a hit
